Job Description:
Functions as an assistant to physicians and other professionals in the provision of primary care.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Performs baseline assessment of patients; Prepares patients for examination and treatments; Assists in the collection and recording of pertinent clinical and social data for patients through interviews and physical measurements; Administers medications and treatment per written orders; Registers patients, retrieves records and triages.
Ensures EMR data is complete; Collects specimen when necessary; Performs EKGs; Orders medical supplies to ensure and maintain constant patient flow; Processes referrals including scheduling, follow:
up notification, and report retrieval.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited program in practical nursing.
Current registration to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Alabama.
At least one year of clinical experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.
Maintains current license on file.
Must have basic computer skills.
